About me

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Kentucky.

I did my postdoc in the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science at University of Waterloo (2023-2024). Prior to that, I worked as a Quantitative Analyst at Wells Fargo Bank (2022-2023). I received my B.S. from Sichuan University (2012-2016) and Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Utah (2017-2022). Both Chengdu and Salt Lake City hold many sweet memories from my early adulthood.

My research interests lie in the mathematics of data. Specifically, I work on random sampling (randomized least squares and algorithmic stochastic localization), ranking, and multifidelity methods. As a problem-driven researcher, I enjoy learning new ideas and am open to potential collaborations.

Prospective students: All Ph.D. applications are handled by the graduate recruiting committee. If you are interested in working with me, you are welcome to mention my name in your application. Please do not send AI-generated emails expressing interest in my research unless you have genuinely read my work. If you are already a student at the University of Kentucky and would like to learn more about my research, please feel free to reach out—I would be happy to chat.
